“In Christ, All Things Hold Together!”
As we look around the world we see a lot of suffering, we see the effects of evil, we see the
consequences of sin. As we look at even our own lives, we know what it is like to experience
suffering, hardship and loss. We know how hard it is to fight against sin. And yet, the apostle
Paul tells us, “He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” How can we know
that? How can we know that God is holding all things together in Christ?
In our reading today, the apostle Paul invites us to look up and look out over everything we can
see and see the world with new eyes. Let’s see that all things are created by Christ and for him.
In him, all things hold together! In him, all things are made new.
